4)In the year 1997,the following data are provided for village A;

• Mid year population 200000
• Live births 7500
• Deaths 3000
• Infant deaths 750
• Neonatal deaths 150
• Maternal deaths 100

Calculate 4 rates (You have to write all formula used )

5) The birth weights of newborn babies in regions A and B were compared. In region A,the mean was 3kg with a standard deviation of 0.5kg and N1=100.

In region B,the mean was 4 kg with a standard deviation of 0.5kg and N2=100. Test if there is any significant difference between mean birth weights in the two regions. The critical value at 5% level of significance and d.f= 1.96

State the hypotheses,calculation and interpretation.

6 )Forty cases of congenital anomalies were newly diagnose in a pediatric hospital. You selected 80 children free from the condition. You asked mothers of both groups about history of smoking during pregnancy. The following results were obtain :
